She was issued a flagrant 1 foul for that action, but the call was only the beginning, as several fans took to social media to flame DeShields. The harsh comments didn’t take long to arrive, with some fans asking for severe sanctions for DeShields.

“Diamond Deshields is being absolutely filthy towards Caitlin Clark at the moment,” one fan said.

“Diamond Deshields is a s**t bag for this. She’s a veteran player. She knows exactly what she did to Caitlin Clark,” another fan emphatically said.

“WNBA should make a rule where players targeting others purposefully should be fined and forced to sit out!” another fan expressed.

Others called for more action from Clark or her teammates.

“Her last 3 fouls on Clark was unnecessary and flagrant. Clark or her teammate better swing on someone to get this shit to stop,” one fan wrote.

One fan compared that play to a football tackle.

Clark had the last laugh over DeShields, as the Fever dominated the game securing the win and the regular-season series over the Sky, who lost their fifth consecutive game.
